The Elégance-Gontard School
Created in Nice in 1969 by Marcelle Gontard, the Gontard School, which became the Elégance-Gontard school, has a long and rich experience in teaching beauty care.
Since September 2000 it has been run by Stéphanie Knecht, who also manages a beauty centre and is Chair of the CNAIB 06.
The Elégance-Gontard Beauty and Cosmetics private technical school has trained over 8,500 beauticians of all levels, and continues to train nearly 300 professionals each year.
It regularly obtains the best national success rates in the State-certified Beauty Care diplomas.
Thanks to its reputation and its professional network, it also has record employability levels. Its students and trainers are recruited to join some of the most prestigious brand names in the sector, both in France and abroad.
The Elégance Spa Academy
In 2005, Elégance launched the first European Spa Academy in Nice and created the position and a training course for a Spa Practitioner, followed by one for a Spa Manager.
The Elégance Spa Academy’s Spa Practitioner diploma was approved by the French Government in 2009, and the 100% employability rate for people holding this diploma was audited by the Ministry of Employment through the CNCP (National Vocational Certification Commission).
The network of schools
Since 2009, the Elégance Groupe has developed a network of national and international schools. Based on the Nice school model, high-quality establishments have been opened in Vichy, Montpellier, Minsk (Belarus), Madrid (Spain)... Other projects are currently under way, both in France and abroad.
The Elégance Groupe, led by Jean-Eric Knecht is, and has been for several years, known and recognised for its high standards, its highly qualified teaching staff, the quality of its training courses, its openness and its involvement in all professional areas and environments relating to the beauty and well-being sector. This makes it a benchmark at both national and international level.
